Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a full-time Sports Coordinator to oversee the successful delivery of university sport tournaments, leagues, programmes and events, and to contribute to student wellbeing.

Reporting to the Sports Team Leader, you will manage planning, budgets, travel, venues, registrations, officials, health and safety, prizes and communications, while building strong relationships with clubs, staff and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Relevant experience and knowledge of sport and recreation programming, delivery and sport event management.
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm and passion for the sport and recreation industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all elements related to the successful delivery of a sport tournament/programme including planning, marketing, registrations, venues, draws, officials, health and safety, prizes and communicating results.
• Oversee elements of the University's participation in national inter-tertiary tournaments and events including managing budgets, travel arrangements, staffing and logistics.
• Advise on opportunities to develop, process improvements and annual planning.
• Project manage and deliver sports events, programmes and services as required.
