Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Hamilton is seeking a Café Supervisor for our Rototuna village who loves people, hospitality, and quality service. You will lead daily café operations and ensure a welcoming, high-standard experience for residents and visitors.

You will train and mentor a small team, deliver superb barista services, and assist with catering for village events. This permanent role runs Sunday to Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with uniform provided and opportunities to grow hospitality

• Leading a small team is ideal.
• superb barista skills are essential.

Job Description

We're now looking for a Café Supervisor for our Rototuna village who shares our love for people, hospitality, and quality service.

Responsibilities

• Leading the daily operations of the café and reconciling the daily takings
• Training and mentoring a small team
• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Providing outstanding barista services
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions

You'll work closely with the Chef Manager, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

Contract

This is a permanent role working a roster of Sunday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience running daily operations in a café or hospitality business
• Experience leading a team is ideal
• Superb barista skills
• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
