Job summary

Columbus Café Mitre 10 MEGA Mt Wellington in Auckland is seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. This permanent full-time role requires delivering high-quality cafe food and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.

You will prepare and cook menu items, assist with stock control, and support the team during busy service periods, while upholding food safety standards and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial kitchen experience in a chef or cook role.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Reliability, initiative and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Pride in producing quality food and maintaining high kitchen standards.
• Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard.
• Assisting with food preparation and daily kitchen operations.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen.
• Following food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Assisting with stock control, stock rotation and kitchen organisation.
• Working efficiently and supporting the team during busy service periods.
