Job summary

Smith's Mitre 10 Mega in Christchurch is seeking a Café Head Chef to lead the kitchen for a busy Columbus Coffee inside the store. You will start with a full induction and training, then manage a small team of two chefs and work unsupervised when needed.

The role demands high standards, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays. The ideal candidate has experience in short order brunch and bakery items, strong communication, stock

We have an exciting Leadership Chef opportunity available in a busy Columbus Café

Situated inside Mitre 10 MEGA, we are a small but professional team who believe in having fun while we work hard. Going above and beyond to offer our customers a premium coffee and food experience we are looking for a Café Head Chef to work with the Café Manager to run the kitchen.

As the CaféHead Chef

• You willcontribute to the successful running of the kitchen - in a busy cafeenvironment. You will be given a full induction and training but will need to be confident and experienced to work unsupervised.
• Experience to lead atalented team of 2 other chefs

The idealcandidate for this role will

• Be a teamplayer with good communication skills

• Beconfident with stock control systems, costing food products and foodcompliance.
• Ideallyhave at least 12 months experience as a Head chef working in a busy Cafekitchen with great experience in cooking short order brunch meals and bakingskills to help with preparing savoury and sweet food cabinet items
• Be ableto work on a 7-day roster which will include weekdays, weekends and publicholidays as required
