Job summary

Columbus Café, Mitre 10 MEGA Mt Wellington in Auckland is recruiting a Junior Chef on a fixed-term basis. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a busy commercial kitchen, working alongside a friendly and supportive team.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, assisting with food preparation and daily kitchen operations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, following food safety procedures, and helping with stock rotation. Set contracted days and hours.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial kitchen experience is preferred, but we’re happy to support someone who is keen to learn and develop
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Reliability and a positive attitude
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Pride in your work and a genuine interest in food and hospitality
• Someone who is adaptable and able to remain calm under pressure
