Job summary

Agnès is a busy neighbourhood café, bakery and bistro in Birkenhead, Auckland, seeking an experienced Baker to join the kitchen team. The role focuses on producing beautiful, consistent baked goods in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

The successful candidate will manage early morning production, maintain quality, and contribute to a small, hardworking team. Formal baking qualifications are welcome but not essential if you have strong practical experience.

BAKER – AGNÈS, BIRKENHEAD-IMMEDIATE START

Agnès is a busy neighbourhood café, bakery and bistro in Birkenhead, Auckland, and we're looking for an experienced Baker to join our kitchen team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves producing beautiful, simple baking consistently and enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for the daily production of our bakery and cabinet offering, including:

• Focaccia and other enriched doughs
• Cakes, slices and sweet baking
• Biscuits, tarts and desserts
• Preparation of components for our cabinet
• Maintaining consistency, quality and presentation
• Managing daily production and prep lists
• Monitoring stock levels and minimising waste
• Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe bakery section

We're looking for someone who:

• Has professional baking, pastry or commercial kitchen experience
• Is confident working independently

HOURS

This is a full-time position with early morning starts, and weekend work.

We are looking for someone reliable who can take ownership of the bakery section and become an important part of the Agnès team.
