Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a reliable Baker’s Assistant for our busy artisan bakery in Auckland. This hands-on role suits someone who works efficiently, stays organised, and takes pride in their work.

Hours are 5:00am–6:30pm, five days per week, with early starts and weekend work essential. You’ll mix, prep, bake, and help with cabinet foods, while keeping the kitchen clean and meeting food hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Previous bakery or food production experience preferred.
• Interest in cakes, sweets and quality baked goods.
• Good attention to detail and presentation.
• Able to work quickly and stay organised.
• Reliable and able to work independently or in a team.
• Early starts and weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Mixing, prepping and shaping doughs and batters.
• Helping produce cakes, slices and other sweet items.
• Preparing sandwiches, rolls and cabinet food.
• Monitoring proofing and baking.
• Weighing and measuring ingredients.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and stocked.
