Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is hiring a Café Assistant for our Rototuna village. You will deliver friendly customer service, prepare coffee and cabinet food, and create a warm cafe experience for residents, families and visitors.

This casual, as-needed role covers shifts across Monday to Sunday, with opportunities to grow within Summerset and gain hospitality qualifications. Uniforms provided and supportive team environment.

Job Description

We're now looking for a Café Assistant for our Rototuna village, who shares our love for people and hospitality.

You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you'll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

You'll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that's welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is a casual role. Working on as and when needed basis (Shifts when required can be across Monday to Sunday).

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:

• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
