Job summary

Summerset Rototuna village café is seeking a friendly Café Assistant to deliver warm customer service, prepare coffee and cabinet foods, and support residents and visitors in a welcoming community space.

You will work on a casual basis, across shifts from Monday to Sunday, alongside a village team including the Chef Manager and Café Supervisor. Previous café experience is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• Warm, friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage several tasks at once.
• Clear communication and teamwork, with the ability to work independently when needed.

Job Description

We're now looking for a Café Assistant for our Rototuna village, who shares our love for people and hospitality.

You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you'll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard
• Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions
• Handling cash and reconciling daily takings

You'll work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that's welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is a casual role. Working on as and when needed basis (Shifts when required can be across Monday to Sunday).

Qualifications

You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:

• A warm, friendly personality with great customer service skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to multitask
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
