Job summary

PAK’nSAVE Rangiora in Canterbury is seeking a trade-qualified Butcher to lead the busy butchery department in a dynamic retail setting. You'll oversee daily operations, cut, prepare, and present products, and coach a team of butchers and apprentices.

This leadership role focuses on delivering quality at the best prices, driving margins, and maintaining food safety while delivering excellent customer service and a fresh, competitive range.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified butcher with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, processing and quality standards.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills; inventory systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspiring, leading, training, and motivating butchers and apprentices.
• Managing sales, gross profit, and wage budgets.
• Ensuring all food safety and health & safety requirements are delivered to the highest standard.
• Overseeing cutting, preparation, presentation, and value-added products.
• Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high department standards.
