Job summary

New World Waihi, part of Foodstuffs North Island, is seeking an experienced Butchery Manager to lead a high‑performing team in a fast-paced retail environment. You will own the department, uphold exceptional standards, and ensure a superior shopping experience for every customer.

Responsibilities include rostering, training, inventory control, maintaining food safety, and driving sales and profitability while working closely with store leadership to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Must have management experience in retail, supermarkets, food service, hospitality, or similar.
• Experience with SAP and inventory management systems.
• Strong ability to motivate, coach, and build relationships through excellent communication.
• Outstanding planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Butchery team to create a high-performing culture.
• Manage rostering, training, productivity, and labour costs.
• Ensure excellent customer service and top-tier product presentation.
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, and inventory management.
• Drive department sales and profitability while achieving targets.
• Maintain food safety and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with leadership to meet store goals.
• Ensure displays are full, appealing, and correctly ticketed.

KeyResponsibilities
