Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island’s New World Howick is seeking a dedicated Butchery 2IC to support the department manager in maximising sales and margins while overseeing stock, expenses and a team of colleagues. You will lead meat preparation, ensure proper labelling, and uphold food safety standards to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Experience as a qualified butcher in a retail environment is essential; SAP experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Breaking, boning, slicing and cutting all carcasses and meat in preparation for sale.
• Adhering to and leading all Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements.
• Ensure all meat that is displayed is done so correctly trayed, wrapped and labelled.
• Assist the Butchery Manager to meet department targets and operational delivery standards.
• Completing orders of product as necessary.
• Assist the Butchery Manager in effectively managing the team in the department.
• Complete all necessary traceability as required.

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and be a NZ Citizen/Permanent Resident or hold a valid visa.
