Job summary

Matamata-Piako District Council’s Building Team seeks skilled Building Control Officers (Processing) to deliver high-quality outcomes and provide technical problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Qualification meeting Regulation 18 requirements of the Building Act.
• Current NCAS processing competency (Residential 1 minimum, higher competency advantageous).
• Experience in a Building Consent Authority.
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Code and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound technical judgement.
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply it confidently.
• Outstanding communication and customer relationship skills.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality outcomes in processing building consent applications.
• Contribute to a high-performing Building Control team through problem-solving.
• Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to a range of applications.
