Job summary

Tradestaff Queenstown is seeking a reliable Brush Hand to support painting projects across residential and commercial sites in the Queenstown area. You’ll assist with prep, painting, and touch-up work, working alongside experienced painters and other trades.

No formal qualification is required; practical painting experience counts. You should be reliable, hardworking and eager to learn, with good attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Some previous painting or brush hand experience.
• You don’t need to be a qualified painter — practical experience is what matters.
• Reliable, hardworking and keen to learn.
• A good eye for detail and pride in your work.
• Comfortable working as part of a team.
• Physically fit and happy working on your feet.
• Your own basic painting tools are an advantage.
• Reliable transport is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Assisting painters with day-to-day painting work.
• Preparing walls, ceilings and other surfaces for painting.
• Sanding, filling, masking and general preparation.
• Using brushes and rollers for painting and touch-up work.
• Helping with interior and exterior painting.
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Working alongside other trades and following instructions.
• Following site safety requirements.

Tradestaff Queenstown is looking for a reliable Brush Hand to join our team and work across a range of projects throughout the Queenstown area.

You don’t need to be a fully qualified painter - we’re looking for someone with painting experience who knows their way around a brush, takes pride in their work and is keen to get stuck in. You’ll be working alongside experienced painters and other trades, helping with preparation and painting across residential and commercial sites.

Location: Queenstown, Otago

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $28-$30 per hour, with weekly pay
