Job summary

Tony's Tyre & Auto Care in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead a busy retail/workshop operation. The role focuses on driving sales, managing teams, and delivering outstanding customer experiences daily.

You will be responsible for profitability, stock control, and safety compliance while building strong relationships with customers and fleets. A hands-on leader with a passion for tyres is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' proven management experience in a retail, automotive or trade environment.
• Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong people leadership skills and ability to develop a team.
• Sharp commercial acumen with business reporting skills.
• Must hold a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

Tony's Tyres has been keeping New Zealanders safely on the road for decades, and our Frankton retail store is a cornerstone of our national network. We're on the hunt for an experienced, commercially savvy Branch Manager who thrives on leading teams, driving sales performance, and delivering an outstanding customer experience every day.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have real responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the branch. You'll be the driving force behind your team's success, building a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading, mentoring, and developing your workshop and retail team
• Driving branch profitability through strong sales performance and margin management
• Building lasting relationships with fleet, trade, and retail customers
• Maintaining accurate stock control and inventory management
• Upholding Tony's Tyres' high standards of Health & Safety compliance
• Delivering a consistently exceptional in-store customer experience

This is a 45-hour per week role, Monday to Saturday.

What We're Looking For

You'll bring experience, energy, and a genuine passion for leading people. To be considered, you'll need:

• A minimum of 3 years' proven management experience in a retail, automotive or trade environment
• A track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
• Strong people leadership skills - you know how to get the best out of a team
• Experience in the tyre or wider automotive industry (highly advantageous)
• Sharp commercial acumen and confident business reporting skills
• A full, clean New Zealand Driver's Licence
• A positive, solutions-focused attitude and the drive to lead by example
