Job summary

Tony's Tyre & Auto Care in Hamilton, North Island, seeks a hands-on leader to support the Branch Manager and drive the day-to-day store performance. You will help build a high-performing team, deliver a superb customer experience, and stay closely connected to wheel alignments and workshop activity.

This 45‑hour per week role runs Monday to Saturday, with competitive pay and clear career progression within the Tony’s Tyres network.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop store team alongside Branch Manager.
• Drive store performance by managing sales and stock to meet targets.
• Deliver excellent in-store customer experience and maintain safety standards.
• Oversee store presentation and Health & Safety compliance.
• Perform wheel alignments and stay hands-on in workshop areas.
• Assist with training, performance management, and adherence to company procedures.

The Opportunity

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll support the Branch Manager in driving the day‑to‑day performance of the store. You'll play a key part in building a high‑performing team, delivering an outstanding customer experience, and helping grow the branch - all while staying close to the technical work you love.

This is a 45-hour per week role, Monday to Saturday.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting the Branch Manager in leading, coaching, and developing the team
• Driving store performance by managing sales and stock to ensure targets are met
• Delivering a consistently excellent in-store customer experience
• Maintaining high standards for store presentation and Health & Safety compliance
• Performing Wheel Alignments and being hands‑on across all areas of the workshop
• Assisting with training, performance management, and adherence to company procedures

You’ll bring energy, a customer-first mindset and a genuine desire to lead people. To be considered, you’ll need:

• Experience in the automotive or tyre industry - or a strong willingness to learn across all areas of store operations
• Proven sales experience and the ability to drive results as part of a team
• Emerging leadership skills and the confidence to step up and lead by example
• Good communication skills and a solutions-focused attitude
• A full, clean New Zealand Driver's Licence
