Job summary

Tony’s Tyre & Auto Care in Palmerston North is seeking a hands-on leader to support the Branch Manager in driving day-to-day performance of the store. You’ll build a high-performing team, deliver an outstanding customer experience, and stay close to the technical work you love.

This is a 45-hour-per-week role, Monday to Saturday, offering leadership, coaching, and development opportunities, with a focus on sales, stock management, and safety across the workshop.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll support the Branch Manager in driving the day-to-day performance of the store. You’ll play a key part in building a high-performing team, delivering an outstanding customer experience, and helping grow the branch - all while staying close to the technical work you love.

This is a 45-hour per week role, Monday to Saturday.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting the Branch Manager in leading, coaching, and developing the team
• Driving store performance by managing sales and stock to ensure targets are met
• Delivering a consistently excellent in-store customer experience
• Maintaining high standards for store presentation and Health & Safety compliance
• Performing Wheel Alignments and being hands-on across all areas of the workshop
• Assisting with training, performance management, and adherence to company procedures

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring energy, a customer-first mindset and a genuine desire to lead people. To be considered, you’ll need:

• Experience in the automotive or tyre industry
• or a strong willingness to learn across all areas of store operations
• Proven sales experience and the ability to drive results as part of a team
• Emerging leadership skills and the confidence to step up and lead by example
• Good communication skills and a solutions-focused attitude
• A full, clean
