Job summary

New World Newlands is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead our bakery team and deliver high quality bakery products daily. You will oversee production, ordering and training, while maintaining food safety standards and delivering outstanding customer service.

The role requires a qualified baker with the ability to work under pressure, manage costs, and lead a small team in a busy in-store environment. Permanent full or part-time role with a friendly, engaged team and training support.

• Qualified Baker with professional bakery training

Responsibilities

• Create and oversee the production list to ensure a full range of high-quality bakery products are baked daily
• Scratch baking, including baking, proving, finishing and packing core range products to a high standard
• Meet or exceed sales and GP targets and manage wage costs
• Oversee training and support of all team members
• Order and maintain essential bakery supplies for creation and display of goods
• Ensure food safety and health & safety standards are met
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Lead positive and supportive working relationships within the bakery team
• Undertake all tasks required within the department

We are looking for a Bakery Manager to lead our Bakery Team

You will be working with a committed and motivated team who prides themselves on the quality produce and service we offer our customers here at New World.

The successful candidate will have the drive and passion to take our Bakery to the next level. You will work with your team to ensure the retail bakery space is full and appealing throughout the hours of trade, and that stock levels are controlled appropriately.

Tasks will include:

• Creating and overseeing the production list to ensure a full range of high-quality bakery products are baked daily
• Scratch baking, including baking, proving, finishing and packing core range products according to specifications, standards and recipes to a consistent, high standard
• Ensure sales and GP targets for the department are met or exceeded and that wage costs are controlled appropriately.
• Oversee the training and support of all team members
• Ordering and maintaining all essential bakery needs for creation and display of goods
• Ensuring all food safety and health & safety standards are met
• Delivering exceptional customer service
• Leading positive and supportive working relationships with and within the bakery team.
