Job summary

New World Pioneer in Palmerston North is seeking a qualified baker to join our bakery team. This full-time role runs Sunday to Thursday, 4:00am–12:30pm, involving bread dough production and a wide range of bakery items.

You will work with ovens and provers, maintain daily production schedules, and contribute to a high-production, team-oriented bakery. Applicants must have NZ baking qualifications and be able to lift up to 25kg and work in a fast-paced environment.

Our Bakery Department is progressive and passionate about quality. We actively encourage and support our team to upskill through in-store training and apprenticeships. To continue delivering the very best to our customers, we are looking for an enthusiastic Qualified Baker to join our locally owned bakery team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working Sunday to Thursday, 4:00am - 12:30pm.

You will be involved across the bakery department, from bread and dough production through to cake side.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation and baking of bread doughs from scratch
• Producing a wide range of bakery products
• Working with ovens and provers
• Maintaining efficiency within daily production schedules
• Heavy lifting of up to 25kg
• Ensuring compliance with our Food Control Plan and Health & Safety programme
