Job summary

New World Centre City in Dunedin, part of Foodstuffs NZ, seeks a full-time Baker to create high-quality breads and pastries and to deliver outstanding customer service daily.

You will join a customer-focused team, mentor Apprentices, and contribute to product development while upholding merchandising standards and shop presentation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Baker or experienced with a strong baking background.
• Minimum of three years’ industry experience.
• Passion for baking and commitment to quality.

We are seeking positive, engaging and driven individuals to join our customer-focused team. Are you a qualified or experienced Baker? Our Bakers are key members of our esteemed Bakery, central to delivering premium, high-quality baked goods and providing outstanding customer service.

About the role

This full-time role is perfect for a Baker looking to apply their expertise and continue to develop their skills in our innovative and dynamic environment. You’ll be an integral part of our customer-focused team, contributing to the creation of high-quality bread and sweet baked goods that delight our shoppers daily.

Key responsibilities

• Produce a wide range of high-quality breads, sweets and other baked goods.
• Mentor, coach and train our Apprentices, inspiring the next generation of Bakers.
• Maintain exceptional merchandising standards and provide the great customer service New World is renowned for.

Hours

• Full-time hours, 40 hours per week.
• Tuesday to Saturday, 03:00 am - 11:30 am

About you

• Qualified Baker or experienced professional with a strong baking background.
• A minimum of three years’ industry experience.
• Passion for Baking and the Bakery trade with a commitment to quality.
• Eager to contribute to the success of the team and product development.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
