Job summary

New World Ashburton is seeking a Bakery Assistant to join our Bakery Department. You will pack and present a range of bakery items, maintain cleanliness and stock, and help ensure food safety and quality standards are met.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring teamwork, reliability, and good attention to detail. Training will be provided, and there is a mornings-only schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 4:00am to 12:30pm, with opportunities to extend hours during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or food prep preferred but training will be provided.
• Mornings availability required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Pack and present bakery products including bread, cakes, muffins, and pastries.
• Keep the department clean, organized and well-stocked.
• Adhere to food safety and quality standards at all times.
• Support the team during busy periods to meet production demands.

As a Bakery Assistant, you'll be responsible for packing and presenting a variety of bakery products, including bread, cakes, muffins, biscuits, and specialty items. You'll help keep the department clean, organised, and well-stocked while ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained at all times. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where attention to detail and teamwork are essential

Days & Hours of Work:

Tuesday to Saturday – 4:00am to 12:30pm (40hrs per week)
