Job summary

Comspek International seeks an experienced Azure Engineering Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership across cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, automation, and modern software delivery practices.

You will help establish engineering standards, improve the developer experience, drive CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, and create reusable cloud patterns to support long-term capability. Hybrid Wellington contract.

Qualifications

• Strong Azure cloud engineering experience across hosting, networking, compute, and environment design.
• Proven expertise in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and release engineering.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot and/or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to define and implement engineering standards, tooling, and reusable patterns.
• Track record leading engineering initiatives across multiple teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills and a delivery-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across cloud engineering (Azure), DevOps, platform engineering, automation, and delivery practices.
• Establish engineering standards and tooling to support scalable patterns and reusable components.
• Drive CI/CD, deployment automation, and improve developer experience.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Engineering Lead to provide hands‑on technical leadership across cloud engineering (Azure), DevOps, platform engineering, automation, and modern software delivery practices.

In this role, you will help establish engineering standards, improve developer experience, drive CI/CD and deployment automation, and create reusable cloud and platform patterns that support long-term organisational capability. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to balance strategic direction with hands‑on delivery.

Key requirements:

• Strong Azure cloud engineering experience across application hosting, networking, compute, and environment design.
• Proven expertise in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and release engineering.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot and/or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to define and implement engineering standards, tooling, and reusable patterns.
• Track record leading engineering initiatives across multiple teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.

Desirable:

• Experience in regulated or enterprise environments.
• Microsoft technology stack and .NET experience.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, APIs, platform modernisation, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

Contract Details:

• Initial 6-month contract
• Wellington preferred, with hybrid working available
