Job summary

Randstad in Wellington seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer to bridge the gap between cloud architecture and hands-on engineering. You will own design and automated delivery across Azure, AWS, and on‑prem environments, driving continuous delivery and DevOps best practices in a large enterprise setting.

The role focuses on Azure/AWS cloud solutions, Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, and orchestration with Kubernetes, with strong scripting in Python or similar.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Cloud Engineer with strong Linux and Windows management.
• Deep expertise in Azure (including Virtual WAN) and AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Proven mastery of Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code delivery in production.
• Solid experience with Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, ARO, or OpenShift) is preferred.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python, PowerShell, or Shell for enterprise automation.
• Relevant certifications (Azure DevOps Expert, AWS Certified, or CKA) are desirable.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong leadership and solution design capability to join a large enterprise organisation in Wellington. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cloud architecture and hands-on engineering, taking ownership of design and automated delivery across Azure, AWS, and on-premise environments.

You will play a pivotal role in driving continuous delivery, cloud infrastructure management, and DevOps best practices. This long-term contract offers an exceptional opportunity to influence enterprise-scale cloud capability, leveraging advanced automation, hybrid networking, and modern orchestration tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bridge architecture and engineering by owning solution design across Azure and AWS platforms.
