Job summary

LAB 3 Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Wellington (open to Auckland) for a 6-12 month contract. The role focuses on delivering technology projects within enterprise environments, leveraging Azure, Terraform IaC and DevOps practices, with a hybrid on-site/work-from-home setup.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage vendors and clients, and drive project schedules, budgets and risk while aligning with business outcomes and governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Senior Project Manager with proven delivery of technology projects in complex enterprise environments.
• NZ citizen or permanent resident based in Wellington or Auckland.
• Experience delivering Azure infrastructure, data or security projects using IaC (Terraform) and DevOps tools.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day, manage and influence technical project teams, vendors, partners and clients to deliver outcomes while managing risk, issues and quality.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve client and project goals and identify opportunities.
• Prepare and track project schedules, scope, resources and finances while driving defined roadmaps.
• Adapt hybrid and waterfall methodologies; embed Scrum, Agile, Kanban and DevOps across projects.
• Lead client workshops to define functional and non-functional requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement of frameworks, governance, reporting, processes and procedures.

L AB 3 is one of the largest Azure engineering practices in the Australasia region with a focus on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Modern Apps & Integration, Security, and Network services.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team on a 6- 12 - month contract. Ou r ideal candidate will be based in Wellington ( however we will consider Auckland based candidates too) & be eligible for government s ecurity clearance ( c itizens or p ermanent r esidents, having spent the last 5+ years in based New Zealand)

The Role:

• Day to day, you'll manage, lead and influence technical project teams, vendors, partners and clients to deliver effective project outcomes whilst managing risk, issues, and quality of the deliverables.
• Work with (and influence) stakeholders to achieve satisfactory client and project outcomes all whilst identifying opportunities, working collaboratively, and managing your projects to deliver client strategic outcomes.
• A ct with minimum supervision to prepare, maintain , and track progress of project schedules, scope, resource forecasts, and project finances whilst driving delivery of defined roadmaps within commercials.
• Be skilled at adopting appropriate hybrid and waterfall methodologies as per individual environments, embedding application of Scrum, Agile, Kanban & DevOps frameworks across projects.
• Initiate, facilitate and lead client workshops that support the definition of non-functional and functional requirements.
• Drive continuous enhancement of our team frameworks, practice structure, governance, reporting, processes, and procedures.

The ideal candidate:

• Senior Project Manager with a successful track record of delivering technology projects within complex enterprise environments with high levels of process, complexity and governance.
• NZ citizen or permanent resident, based in Wellington or Auckland
• Experience delivering large scale Azure infrastructure, data or security projects leveraging IaC (Terraform) and DevOps technologies is highly beneficial.
• Ability to translate complex & technical requirements into business outcomes.
• Vendor background: You understand the complexities of delivering to a client and can be flexible with changing priorities.
• High competency in using Jira, burn down reports and budget reporting.
• Y ou will be expected to be onsite with the client , when required , so please come in ready for a hybrid work environment.
