Job summary

Datacom is seeking an Azure Integration Platform SME / Technical Lead to lead enterprise integration initiatives across customer projects and BAU operations. The role combines deep technical know-how with leadership, governance, and documentation duties.

You will mentor a small team, design APIs, engage with clients, and enforce best practices within Azure integration platforms and related services.

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Azure Integration Platform SME / Technical Lead to join our team and play a key role in delivering and supporting enterprise integration solutions. This position combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, mentoring team members, and driving platform governance and standards.
You will be the go-to expert for Azure integration technologies, helping design, build, support, and enhance critical integration platforms while providing technical leadership across projects and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for Azure Integration Platform solutions.
• Design, develop, and support scalable and secure APIs and integration services.
• Engage directly with customers to provide technical guidance, solution design, and operational support.
• Lead and mentor a small team of support and technical resources.
• Define, implement, and enforce development standards, governance, and best practices.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, including API design and architecture documents.
• Support both project delivery and business-as-usual (BAU) operational activities.
• Participate in on-call support if required.
• As you will be working on a wide range of customers, including Government customers, you will be required to hold or be eligible for Five Eyes clearance

What You’ll Bring
Azure Integration Platform
Strong hands-on experience with:

• Azure Front Door
• Azure API Management (APIM)
• Azure Function Apps

• Microsoft Entra External ID (desirable)

Identity & Security

• Strong understanding of Azure AD B2C, including custom policies.
• Experience implementing identity integrations using:
  • SAML
  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
• Strong knowledge of API security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience working with certificates, including:
  • mTLS certificates
  • B2C signing certificates

Development

• Strong .NET development experience (mandatory).
• PowerShell experience (preferred).
• Java experience (nice to have).
• Python experience (nice to have).

DevOps & Automation

• Ability to diagnose, maintain, and support Terraform deployments.
• Experience with ARM templates and Azure deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of Bicep templates (nice to have).
• Comfortable working within a DevOps-driven environment.
