Placements24 is seeking an Aviation Security Supervisor for a key airport operation in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. Lead a security team, enforce procedures, and ensure adherence to international and national aviation security regulations.

You will oversee screening, access control, incident response, and coordination with authorities, while maintaining vigilance and high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within aviation security or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation security legislation, regulations (SACAA) and best practices.
• Experience with screening equipment such as X-ray scanners and metal detectors.
• Strong leadership, team management and communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in English; isiXhosa or Afrikaans is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of aviation security staff.
• Conduct regular patrols of airport premises to ensure security and identify potential risks.
• Implement and enforce all aviation security policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Oversee passenger and baggage screening operations, ensuring adherence to screening standards.
• Manage access control systems and ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter restricted areas.
• Respond to security incidents, breaches, and emergencies, coordinating with relevant authorities.

• Prepare and submit security reports, including incident reports and operational summaries.
• Maintain equipment and ensure its proper functioning for security operations.
• Liaise with law enforcement agencies, airlines, and other stakeholders on security matters.

About the Role

Our client, responsible for airport operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape , is seeking an experienced and vigilant Aviation Security Supervisor. • Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to pass comprehensive background checks and security screening.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of isiXhosa or Afrikaans is an advantage.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• A relevant qualification in Security Management or Aviation Security is preferred.
