Job summary

Procore Technologies is seeking an Associate Operations Manager to operate robots remotely, analyze data, and optimize AI-driven workflows. You’ll bridge operations, product, and engineering for high-value robotics deployments on construction sites. The role requires in-office collaboration in Auckland, NZ, three days a week, with some travel and U.S.

time zone overlap. You’ll report to the Robotics team Engineering Manager.

We are looking for a Associate Operations Manager to operate robots remotely, analyze data captures, optimize AI-driven workflows, and act as the bridge between operations, product, and engineering. As the Associate Operations Manager on our DroneDeploy AI Team, you will work closely with cross-functional operations, engineering, and site teams to ensure high-value robotics operations and translate frontline experience into product improvements. Your strengths in remote task coordination, AI workflow optimization, and operational problem-solving will drive your success.

You will report to the Engineering Manager for the Robotics team will be based in Auckland, New Zealand. This is a 3-month fixed-term role (with possibility of extension) requiring in-office collaboration at least three days per week, flexible working hours with U.S. time zone overlap, and occasional domestic/international travel.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and monitor robots remotely to ensure tasks are completed safely, reliably, and efficiently on customer job sites.
• Troubleshoot and triage robot operational issues with basic shell/terminal usage, investigating and escalating to engineering where necessary.
• Act as the operations voice in product and engineering discussions by translating real-world observations into actionable feature improvements.
• Drive daily operational planning, task tracking, and metric reporting to communicate system performance and operational trends to stakeholders.
• Create and maintain comprehensive operational playbooks and knowledge bases to establish repeatable, scalable processes.
• Partner directly with site teams and customers to resolve real-time operational blockers and ensure continuous job site safety.
• Identify operational gaps between product design intent and real-world usage to guide ongoing technology enhancements.

What You Bring

• Strong organizational and coordination skills with experience managing workflows across distributed or remote teams.
• Demonstrated competency in controller and input dexterity, using gamepads, radio controllers or similar. (this covers off skills needed to safely and efficiently operate the robot)

• Curiosity regarding emerging technology and hands-on experience using or testing AI tools to improve workflows.
• Familiarity with basic scripting, lightweight prototyping, dashboard creation, or workflow automation tools.
• General understanding of construction project phases, job site operations, and field workflows.
• Ability to safely handle, position, and mount payloads (e.g., 360° cameras) onto robotic platforms as required for field deployment.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

60,000.00 - 82,500.00 NZD Annual
