Job summary

Petstock Hastings NZ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (2IC) to support the Store Manager in leading a passionate team and delivering world-class customer service. The role focuses on mentoring staff, driving sales, stock integrity, and a strong safety culture within Hawke's Bay.

You will recruit and onboard new team members, support VM and local marketing initiatives, and help create a positive in-store environment where staff enjoy working every day.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar store leadership role.
• Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and build high-performing teams.
• Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities.
• Ability to drive safe Work, Health & Safety practices.
• Established business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, mentoring and inspiring your team daily.
• Support your Store Manager in coaching the team to achieve and develop their knowledge and skills.
• Lead from the front by consistently providing an exceptional customer experience.
• Create strong safety mindset, fostering a culture of safety within your team.
• Support your Store Manager to manage stock effectively and ensure stock integrity.
• Assist in managing visual merchandising (VM) of stock displays to VM standards.
• Stay up-to-date on pet care, products, and services.
• Recruit, onboard, and induct high-calibre new team members.
• Create a fun, supportive in-store culture where the team loves coming to work.
• Proactively support local marketing opportunities and sponsorships.
