Job summary

Morrinsville Intermediate invites applications for Assistant Principal / Learning Support Coordinator (3MU). This 0.72 LSC plus 0.28 AP role combines pastoral care with learning support, within our Senior Leadership Team.

We seek an innovative educational leader with NZ teaching registration, at least 5 years of classroom experience, strong capability in data-driven planning, inclusive practices, te Tiriti commitment.

Qualifications

• Professional Registration: a current, valid New Zealand Category One (Full) practising certificate
• 5+ years of highly successful classroom teaching experience within New Zealand, with a proven track record of modifying environments and curriculum for diverse, neurodiverse, or disabled learners
• Strategic capability: analysing student data (behavioural, academic, and attendance) to design, monitor, and refine proactive school-wide systems to support hauora
• Collaborative and Relational Leadership: outstanding interpersonal skills to cultivate deep, respectful, and culturally responsive partnerships
• Inter-Agency Navigation: success working with external agencies
• Adult Coaching and Mentoring: The capability to influence and model high-impact, evidence-based inclusive practices (such as Universal Design for Learning) to build teacher, and learning assistant, capability
• Crisis Management and Resilience
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
