Qualifications

  • Professional Registration: a current, valid New Zealand Category One (Full) practising certificate
  • 5+ years of highly successful classroom teaching experience within New Zealand, with a proven track record of modifying environments and curriculum for diverse, neurodiverse, or disabled learners
  • Strategic capability: analysing student data (behavioural, academic, and attendance) to design, monitor, and refine proactive school-wide systems to support hauora
  • Collaborative and Relational Leadership: outstanding interpersonal skills to cultivate deep, respectful, and culturally responsive partnerships
  • Inter-Agency Navigation: success working with external agencies
  • Adult Coaching and Mentoring: The capability to influence and model high-impact, evidence-based inclusive practices (such as Universal Design for Learning) to build teacher, and learning assistant, capability
  • Crisis Management and Resilience

Our school is seeking an innovative, collaborative leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Principal / Learning Support Coordinator (LSC). This unique composite role combines our 0.72 LSC staffing allocation with a 0.28 Assistant Principal profile, focusing on leading our school’s holistic approach to pastoral care and learning support.

Criteria for appointment

We are seeking an empowered, energetic, values-driven leader who demonstrates:

  • Professional Registration: a current, valid New Zealand Category One (Full) practising certificate

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
