Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Newmarket, Auckland, is seeking an assistant manager for a busy bakery. You will supervise FOH and BOH teams, assign shifts, ensure health and sanitation compliance, manage inventory and supplies, and help deliver a high-quality guest experience.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of hospitality experience or a Level 4+ qualification in management/commerce, weekend flexibility, the ability to pass a drug test, and no criminal convictions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise FOH and BOH teams and assign shifts.
• Oversee staff compliance with health code and sanitation requirements.
• Forecast store supplies, goods and cleaning products needs.
• Maintain inventory of all supplies to support sales.
• Supervise workload and ensure operational standards are met.
• Assist in hiring and ongoing staff training.
• Respond to customer complaints promptly and effectively.
• Coordinate with team to ensure customer satisfaction and follow procedures.
• Resolve staff grievances with Café Manager and maintain records.
• Coordinate with Café Manager for daily operations and financial records.

Our pay: $23.95 - $25.00 per hour

We are a popular bakery shop located in Newmarket, Auckland.

To enhance our team, we are now looking for 1 assistant manager to join our team.

We are expecting someone who has a passion for work, attention to details, ability to multi task and be a proactive member of the team.

Ideal candidates should have:

• At least 1 year’s relevant work experience in hospitality industry, OR a relevant level 4 above qualification in management or commerce.
• Flexibility to work on weekends.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Have no criminal convictions.

You are required to:

• Supervise efficient working of FOH and BOH teams and assign shifts.
• Oversee staff’s compliance with all health code and sanitation requirements.
• Work with staff to project future needs for store supplies, goods, and cleaning products.
• Maintain inventory of all needed supplies to enhance sales.
• Supervise workload and ensure effective working of store activities and maintain excellent standards to meet operational expectations
• Assist in hiring and training new employees as well as the continuous training of existing staff
• Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively
• Coordinate with team to ensure customer satisfaction and follow company procedures to increase work efficiency
• Resolve staff grievances together with Café Manager.
• Coordinate with Café Manager for everyday operation and maintain financial and administrative records
