Job summary

PGG Wrightson in Christchurch is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Rural Supplies unit and contribute to the financial success of New Zealand's leading rural business. This full-time role offers exposure to commercial finance and business partnering in a large, diverse environment.

You will provide accounting support, develop financial analyses for stakeholders, and assist with monthly and annual processes.

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
1–3 years' practical accounting experience.
Experience using Microsoft Office, ERP systems (D365/JD Edwards/SAP), and financial management tools.
Advanced Excel skills would be an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

Provide technical accounting support to drive business performance across the Rural Supplies business unit.
Prepare accurate financial analysis and reporting for key stakeholders.
Assist with monthly and annual accounting processes.
Support the Finance Business Partner in building financial understanding and capability across the business.
