Job summary

PGG Wrightson in Oamaru is seeking an enthusiastic store assistant to provide informed sales advice to agricultural and horticultural clients, assist with stock, displays and deliveries, and support day-to-day store administration.

You’ll be a team player with a NZ driver licence, good fitness for lifting, and solid communication skills; retail/sales experience is a bonus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the New Zealand rural sector is essential.
• A full, current and clean New Zealand driver licence.
• Proactive team player who can contribute to results.
• Good physical fitness due to regular heavy lifting.
• Retail and/or sales experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook is essential.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who is committed to great customer service and has a keen interest in the agricultural sector and is looking to build a career in this exciting industry.

PGG Wrightson is one of New Zealand's leading nationwide providers of products and services to the rural sector. We are helping grow the country through our knowledge, service and expertise. This role is full time, Monday to Friday, and may require working on rostered Saturday mornings and is based in the OamaruRural Supplies store.

About the role:

Based in-store, you will provide knowledgeable sales advice and service to a range of both agricultural and horticultural clients. You'll be heavily involved in the day-to-day manual operation of the store such as assisting with stock management and displays, sales processing and deliveries. You'll have a keen interest and passion for the local agriculture industry, and your excellent communication skills will set you apart.

This role will also play a key role in supporting our Store Manager with a number of administrative duties which the successful applicant would own from end-to-end.

Duties & Responsibilities:
