Job summary

Tauranga Motor Company, a leading franchised motor vehicle group in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the CFO and administration team. This fast-paced role offers exposure to all facets of the business and a mentor to develop skills while meeting month-end deadlines.

You will assist with management reports, GL reconciliations, debtor and creditor functions, and statutory returns, while maintaining strong emphasis on accuracy and software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Tertiary accounting qualification; graduates welcome.
• Relevant experience preferred but not essential.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and Google Sheets.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management reports.
• General ledger reconciliations and account maintenance.
• Debtor and Creditor functions.
• Assist with statutory tax returns (PAYE, GST, FBT).
• Support company Health & Safety processes.
• Liaise with managers on financial and administration matters.
• General administration duties as required.

About the Role

Key responsibilities in this role include assisting with:

What we are looking for
