Job summary

OceanaGold invites university students studying Software Engineering or App development to join our Macraes Mine in Otago for a paid internship. You will work on diverse projects with the Asset Management team on-site, gaining practical experience through a structured 9-day fortnight roster from 7am to 4:30pm.

You'll present learnings to Site Management, with mentorship from professionals and exposure to real mining operations.

Qualifications

• Full Class 1 driver's licence (manual preferred)
• Unrestricted New Zealand working rights
• Available from mid-November 2026 through to mid-February 2027
• In your 2nd last or final year of role-related study

Responsibilities

• Gaining practical experience on diverse projects assigned by department managers and team members.
• Participating in group activities and projects with other interns, to gain broad mining process knowledge.
• Presenting experiences and key learnings to Site Management at internship conclusion.
• Research and development of an operator-focused application combining production data with equipment performance insights.
