OceanaGold Corporation invites a talented university student in Mine/Geotechnical Engineering to join the Macraes Mine internship in Otago. The paid role runs mid-November through mid-February, with a 9-day fortnight roster and on-site duties in Underground Mine Engineering.
You'll gain hands-on experience on diverse projects, receive mentorship, and present your learnings to Site Management. Applicants should have NZ work rights, a valid licence, and be in later years of study.

Are you a talented and ambitious university student studying Mine / Geotechnical Engineering looking to gain practical experience in your field of study? We have an internship opportunity for you to join OceanaGold, working at our Macraes Mine in Otago.
This paid internship will run from mid-November through to mid-February (dependent on exam timetable of the successful applicants) working with our talented Underground Mine Engineering team on-site at Macraes. 9-day fortnight roster: 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7am – 4:30pm daily.
Conducting a comprehensive reconciliation of completed stope panels against original Life of Mine (LOM) planning assumptions. This project will focus on evaluating how geotechnical domains influence planned versus actual stope performance. The findings will directly optimize future stope designs, dilution factors, and recovery estimates within the LOM plan.
