Job summary

Assemble Group in Wellington invites applications for an Assistant Project Manager to join a New Zealand-owned design and build business. The role sits in a team delivering commercial fit-outs from design development through to construction and handover.

You will work under experienced Project Managers, gaining exposure to planning, procurement, coordination and budget management while developing your own project management capability within a collaborative, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Proactive, organised and motivated to build a career in project management.
• Qualification in construction management, architecture, building science or related discipline, or relevant industry experience.
• Exposure to construction, project coordination or commercial fit-outs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the coordination and delivery of commercial fit-out projects, ensuring milestones, budgets and quality expectations are met.
• Support Project Managers with project planning, programming, procurement and contractor coordination.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, designers and subcontractors to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Assist with cost tracking, budget management and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, meeting minutes and programme updates.
• Help identify and resolve project issues, keeping communication clear and stakeholders informed.
• Build strong working relationships across the project team while developing your own project management capability.
