About the Role

Our client, a premier recreational facility, is seeking an experienced Aquatics Facility Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of their swimming pools and associated areas in **Queenstown, Eastern Cape**. This demanding role requires a leader with expertise in pool operations, water quality management, safety protocols, and staff supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all patrons, managing a team of lifeguards and pool attendants, and maintaining equipment to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong operational management skills and a commitment to excellence in the **Leisure & Sports** industry. This is a key position within the **Queenstown** community.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all aquatic facilities, including swimming pools, change rooms, and surrounding areas.
• Develop and implement comprehensive water quality testing and maintenance programs to ensure compliance with health standards.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate a team of lifeguards, pool attendants, and maintenance staff.
• Develop and enforce strict safety policies and emergency procedures, ensuring all staff are proficient in their roles.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of all pool equipment, filtration systems, and pumps.
• Manage inventory of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and aquatic equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and national health and safety regulations.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents, coordinating necessary actions and reporting.
• Assist in budget development and management for the aquatics department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aquatics facility management or a similar operational role within the **Leisure & Sports** sector.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, filtration systems, and safety regulations.
• Valid lifeguard certification and pool operator certification are essential.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
