Job summary

Liebherr in New Zealand offers an Apprenticeship in the Earthmoving Division, where you will learn to service, maintain and support advanced machinery used in construction and civil projects.

You will gain real-world experience, complete your apprenticeship training and attend trade school, building a long-term trade career in a growing industry. Applications close 11 October 2026 and start date is 18 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in, or committed to completing, a Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering.
• Genuine interest in mechanical equipment and heavy machinery career.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills; able to complete training and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to safely use hand tools and follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn through structured training, on-the-job experience, and trade school attendance.
• Reliable, motivated and team‑oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified technicians with inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment.
• Learn to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical faults.
• Safely operate workshop tools, equipment and lifting devices; keep area clean and organized.
• Complete apprenticeship training and attend trade school; maintain training records.
• Work across service areas and participate in on-the-job training to gain broad experience.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety, quality, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist qualified technicians with the inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery.
