Job summary

Jobtailor in Auckland is seeking an apprentice to assist qualified technicians with inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery. You will learn to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults while safely operating workshop tools and lifting devices.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in, or committed to completing, a Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering.
  • Interest in mechanical equipment, heavy machinery, and long-term trade career.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to complete training and workplace documentation.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and follow safety procedures.
  • Willingness to learn via structured training, on-the-job experience, and trade school attendance.
  • Reliable, motivated, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.
