Job summary

PAK'nSAVE Rangiora is offering a permanent, full-time Baker Apprentice role, with 40 hours per week and early morning shifts. You'll train alongside a supportive team while working toward the New Zealand Certificate in Baking (Generalist), Level 4.

This 3.5-year apprenticeship provides hands-on training in a busy bakery, with opportunities for career development and growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day bakery operations and production of bakery goods.
• Learn pastry and bread dough production, decorating and cake finishing.
• Adhere to Food Safety standards and maintain product quality.
• Assist with stock rotation and merchandising of bakery items.

Job description

PAK’nSAVE Rangiora is on the lookout for someone who is interested in upskilling to become a qualified baker. You’ll train alongside a skilled, supportive team of bakers who are dedicated to helping you successfully complete your baker apprenticeship.

About the role:

This is a permanent, full-time 40-hour position, working early morning shifts.

The exact hours and days will be discussed at the interview stage.

We’re committed to mentoring and supporting the successful applicant through a 3.5-year apprenticeship, completing the New Zealand Certificate in Baking (Generalist), Level 4.

As a Baker Apprentice, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of the Bakery department, learning how to produce a wide range of fresh and high-quality bakery products. This role comes with the opportunity for career development and growth within the company. We are looking for a willing candidate to train and develop, who has a passion for food and a commitment to work hard in a supportive and stimulating environment.

You will learn:

• Making pastry and bread doughs.
• Baking, icing and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as for displays.
• Food Safety standards and documentation processes.
• Merchandising of the product. Ensuring stock rotation through the monitoring of best before dates.
