Job summary

Jobspace invites an experienced AOD Clinician to join our Papakura team on a permanent part-time basis (24 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The role supports adults 18+ in a community-based AOD service, delivering holistic, recovery-focused care in safe, familiar settings.

You will work in a dual Peer Support and Clinician model, partnering closely with peers to assess, plan and implement treatment while fostering culturally responsive practice and strong community connections.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in AOD and/or mental health settings.
• Current First Aid including CPR is preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver licence is required.
• DAPAANZ registration is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in assessments, treatment planning and recovery-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and develop recovery-focused plans.
• Provide tailored therapeutic interventions based on individual needs and goals.
• Collaborate with Peer Support Specialists to deliver person-centred care.
• Build strong relationships with whānau and local community services.
• Assess risk and create safety and relapse-prevention plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
• Facilitate group education and recovery programmes where appropriate.
• Contribute to a culturally responsive, trauma-informed service grounded in recovery principles.
