Job summary

Wintec in Hamilton is seeking an Āniwaniwa Rainbow Coordinator to coordinate and support Wintec’s Rainbow Alliance, a staff‑led group for the LGBTTQIA+ community, reporting to the Manaaki Akonga Manager. You will plan rainbow events, raise visibility of Wintec’s rainbow whānau, and advise on policies to foster an inclusive environment for staff and students.

Job description

The appointing salary for this role will be between ($67,800 to $84,700)
pro-rata 0.4 FTE (as this is a part-time role) dependent on skills and experience.

The Āniwaniwa Rainbow Coordinator is based in our Manaaki Akonga – Accessibility Services, Peer Tutor Support, Aniwaniwa under Te Kete Manaaki, reporting to the Manaaki Akonga Manager
and will be responsible for:

• To coordinate and support Wintec’s Āniwaniwa Alliance, a staff-led rainbow group that supports our LGBTTQIA+ community at Wintec.
• To effectively coordinate rainbow events/activities for both staff and students and bring visibility to Wintec’s rainbow whānau.
• To raise awareness and understanding of issues relating to LGBTTQIA+ community, advice on policies, processes and systems.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
• Related work/voluntary experience
• Demonstrated experience supporting people who identify with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations
