Wintec in Hamilton, New Zealand, seeks a part-time Student Accessibility Advisor to provide holistic accessibility support, coordinate accommodations and remove barriers to enable ākonga success and inclusion.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $67,800 and $84,700, depending on skills and experience. It reports to the Manaaki Akonga Manager and requires relevant qualification or equivalent experience with experience in education, health or community services.

The purpose of this part-time (0.5 FTE) role is to provide holistic accessibility support, coordinate accommodations and remove barriers to enable ākonga (student) success and inclusion.

The Student Accessibility Advisor is based in our Manaaki Akonga – Accessibility Services, Peer Tutor Support, Aniwaniwa under Te Kete Manaaki, reporting to the Manaaki Akonga Manager, and will be responsible for:

• Provide holistic case management for disabled ākonga from registration through to successful completion of their studies.
• Meet with referred and self-referred ākonga to assess needs, identify barriers and coordinate appropriate support.
• Develop individual support plans and review these as required throughout the learner journey. )

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting disabled people, learners or within education, health or community services.
• Knowledge of accessibility, disability support and inclusive practice.
• Experience coordinating learner support services or case management.
