Job summary

The Treasury Te Tai Ōhanga in Wellington is seeking two Modelling Specialists at Analyst level to contribute to the Treasury's modelling, data, and analytical capability. This hands-on role involves solving complex problems and applying quantitative methods to policy-relevant questions across economics, forecasting, microdata analysis and more.

You will collaborate with Treasury colleagues and external experts to produce robust analyses that inform Ministers and decision-makers, with prospects

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in economics, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
• Experience applying quantitative methods to policy-relevant problems.
• Experience with data, models, analytical tools and code.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to modelling, data analysis, forecasting, or applied policy analysis.
• Develop analytical tools and improve analytical processes and tooling.
• Support the adoption of new approaches and technologies to enhance analysis and evidence-based advice.
