Job summary
The Treasury Te Tai Ōhanga in Wellington, New Zealand, invites applications for two Analyst-level Modelling Specialists to join the Analytics, Insights, and Modelling (AIM) team. This hands-on role involves economic modelling, microdata analysis, forecasting, and applied policy analysis, with scope to develop analytical tools, improve processes, and adopt new technologies that raise analysis quality.
You will partner with policy colleagues to develop evidence, insights and advice for Ministers
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in economics, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
- Experience applying data, models, and analytical tools to real-world problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain complex analysis to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with AI, automation or emerging analytical tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to Treasury's modelling, data, and analytical capability.
- Work on economic modelling, microdata analysis, forecasting, or applied policy analysis.
- Develop analytical tools and improve analytical processes.
- Support adoption of new approaches and technologies to enhance analysis quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Treasury colleagues to produce evidence and insights for Ministers.
