The Analytics, Insights, and Modelling (AIM) team is the Treasury’s centre of excellence for quantitative economic analysis and modelling.
The team works across a range of modelling and analytical disciplines, including economic modelling, forecasting, microdata analysis, and quantitative research. The team works closely with policy colleagues, forecasters, and external experts to ensure analytical work is technically robust and directly relevant to New Zealand’s most important economic challenges.

We are seeking two Modelling Specialists at the Analyst level to contribute to the Treasury's modelling, data, and analytical capability.
This is a hands‑on analytical role for people who enjoy solving complex problems and applying quantitative methods to policy-relevant questions. Depending on priorities, you may contribute to a range of projects including economic modelling, microdata analysis, forecasting, or applied policy analysis. You may also contribute to developing analytical tools, improving analytical processes, and supporting the adoption of new approaches and technologies that enhance the quality and efficiency of analysis.
You will work closely with colleagues across Treasury to develop evidence, insights, and analytical products that help inform advice to Ministers and decision-makers.
