Job summary

Kāinga Ora in Christchurch is seeking a People Data Analyst to join our People Systems and Intelligence team. You will turn complex workforce data into meaningful intelligence that informs change decisions during enterprise transformation.

The role focuses on analytics, reporting, and insights to support leaders with evidence-based planning, workforce design, and readiness for technology modernisation. You will also help respond to external requests with accurate data and contribute to data

Qualifications

• Experience in people analytics, workforce reporting, BI, or related analytical role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing reports and dashboards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver workforce analytics, reporting, and insights to support Technology Modernisation and broader enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Support workforce planning, organisational design, and workforce impact assessments.
• Analyse workforce trends, capability requirements, employee movement, capacity, and organisational risks.
• Develop reporting and measures to monitor change readiness, adoption, and benefits realisation.
• Translating complex workforce data into clear and actionable insights for leaders and stakeholders.
• Support external information requests by providing accurate, timely, and evidence-based workforce information.
• Identify opportunities to improve people data quality, reporting capability, and workforce intelligence across the organisation.
• Build strong relationships with leaders, People & Capability teams, and programme stakeholders to support successful change outcomes.

We're looking for a People Data Analyst to join our People Systems and Intelligence team and play a key role in supporting enterprise change through workforce analytics, reporting, and insights.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful intelligence that informs decision-making and delivers real organisational impact.

As a People Data Analyst, you'll provide specialist workforce analytics and reporting that supports leaders to make informed, evidence-based decisions throughout periods of change and transformation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering workforce analytics, reporting, and insights to support Technology Modernisation and broader enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Supporting workforce planning, organisational design, and workforce impact assessments.
• Analysing workforce trends, capability requirements, employee movement, capacity, and organisational risks.
• Developing reporting and measures to monitor change readiness, adoption, and benefits realisation.
• Translating complex workforce data into clear and actionable insights for leaders and stakeholders.
• Supporting OIA, Ministerial, Parliamentary, and other external information requests by providing accurate, timely, and evidence-based workforce information.
• Identifying opportunities to improve people data quality, reporting capability, and workforce intelligence across the organisation.
• Building strong relationships with leaders, People & Capability teams, and programme stakeholders to support successful change outcomes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful trends.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, and insights that support decision-making.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present data in a way that is easy to understand and act upon.
• Experience engaging with a range of stakeholders and building trusted relationships.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to enhance workforce intelligence capability across the organisation.
