Job summary

Palmerston North Intermediate invites a passionate Visual Arts teacher to join our Amokura specialist team for our Year 7-8 students. You will bring creativity, guide students through techniques, and foster an environment where art flourishes and students take creative risks.

Can you inspire young people to see, imagine and create?

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Visual Arts teacher to join our Amokura specialist team and bring art to life for our Year 7 and 8 students.

At PNINS, Visual Arts gives students opportunities to explore ideas, experiment with different techniques and materials, develop new skills and create work they are proud of.

For some students, this will be an area where they already shine. For others, you might be the teacher who helps them discover a creative side they didn't know they had.

We are looking for someone who:

• brings creativity, enthusiasm and strong Visual Arts knowledge to their teaching
• can engage and inspire intermediate-aged students with a wide range of abilities and experiences
• enjoys explicitly teaching artistic techniques and processes, then supporting students to experiment and develop their own ideas
• creates an art room where students feel confident to have a go and take creative risks
• values both the creative process and the finished product
• values culturally responsive practice and is committed to growing their capability in Te Tiriti o Waitangi-aligned education.

You will be part of Amokura, our specialist teaching team, a collaborative and valued part of PNINS.
