H2R Consulting in Auckland is building a new AI-enabled software development squad for a large, well-established organisation. We are creating a modern engineering practice from the ground up, using AI tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards in architecture, security, testing and UX.

Qualifications

• Proven full-stack development experience.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript capability.
• Experience building and supporting production applications.
• Practical cloud and CI/CD knowledge.
• Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Systematic debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Secure coding and security-by-design awareness.
• UX accessibility and human-centered design awareness.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants or agents.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach.
• Willingness to learn, share knowledge and challenge ideas constructively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modernise applications as part of a new AI-enabled squad.
• Set engineering direction and own quality gates for the squad.
• Design, build and ship production software.
• Establish guardrails for AI-assisted development and review AI-generated code.
• Mentor intermediate and junior engineers; support pairing and code review.
